Ice Cream Truck
By: klink
Running,
Screaming,
“Stop” I say,
You must stop the truck today,
One block,
Two blocks,
Three blocks,
Four,
I am getting very sore,
Five blocks,
Six blocks,
Seven now eight,
It is getting very late,
Nine blocks,
Ten blocks,
This is it,
I might just have to quit,
I have some money,
Stop you’ill see,
I would like to buy some ice cream,
I eat my ice cream,
It’s worth the run,
Not to mention,
It was YUM,
Skip,
Jump,
Smile,
Laugh,
I finally got it at last,
Looked down and it was gone,
All melted away,
Glad I got to eat some today,
Walking slowly,
10 blocks back,
Breathing heavy,
It will stop,
Oh my god,
Look at the clock,
It is late,
It is almost 11 o'clock
I just ran all 10 blocks,
I walk inside,
My parents stare,
"Where have you been my dear?"
Its dark outside,
You should have known,
They would have drove,
I’m tired now,
“Goodnight” I said,
I just want inside my bed,
The day is done,
What such fun,
Tomorrow will be even better.
