My Fur-Babies
By: Jflanagan84
I am the owner of 4 very unique dogs. A fourteen year old Jack
Russell Terrier "Munchkin," a seven year old Siberian Husky
"Mika," and two, two year old Yellow Labs "Bo" and "Luke". Bo
and Luke are full brothers and are completely in-separable.
They love to playing together. Bo and Mika wrestle together,
but without failing Luke always sneak attacks.
Munchkin I have had since she was about six weeks old. She has
traveled all over the country with me. She loves playing with
my nieces and nephews, as well as just sitting on the front
porch swing watching the sunset. She is the most facially
expressive dog I have ever owned. Mika is my husbands. He
was a rescued from a shelter. From being in the shelter Mika
can be a little stand offish from time to time, but has gotten
better in time. He is furry at the dickens, shedding year
round. Even with all his fur he loves to sun bath. Bo and
Luke I adopted from a family that just couldn't keep two
big dogs. They love to be loved and show there love in
return. They think that they are lap dogs. They are the my
Dukes of Hazard.
My Fur-babies with there very unique personalities are always
right under my feet. They love to play follow the mama where
ever she may go. I have to private time anymore. They have
an unconditional love that will never go away. Whether I have
a bad day, good day, or anywhere in between they always meet
me at the door and lay on the couch with me. Wagging tails
galore. There is something about an animals love that
everybody should experience. They can teach you, learn from
you, watch you and protect you. As well as you can learn from
them. For me I have love and pure admiration for them. You
may call me the crazy dog lady. But to them i am just the
mama. The are my babies as I am not able to have children of
my own. I am able to cuddle and as my husband says spoil them
rotten.

Your love and pride for your dogs comes out clearly in your writing. You do a good job describing their personalities. I think you meant to use "no" instead of "to". At least it made more since to me that you no longer have private time.

This piece perfectly captures the fun love between dogs and their owner. Just like kids our family pets each have their special personalities and quirks. Jflanagan84 you have really captured the experience of loving your K-9 children, and I honestly do believe they see you as their "mama". On your writing, you have a light and breezy style that is much in keeping with the good-natured content you've chosen to write about. Never lose this easy-to-read approach. Writers try to write like this all the time and fail at it. I think you need to brush up on some punctuation, for example the missing possessive apostrophe in "husbands" on line 15. But you obviously know how to deliver a warming subject matter, one most of us are close to, and you know how to make it interesting. So keep writing!
