Writer Notes
I wrote this in 12th grade when I was endanger of not graduating. I realized a lot in the last couple months of my high school career. I did what I had to and now I am sitting in an college English class.

Not exceeding to the maxium in high school
By: Ahja
I have experienced many things in life and there was only one
that made me feel like a failure. Knowing you did not try
your best to make someone proud is a disappointment. Knowing
you did not start your senior year of high school as a full
senior is an even bigger disappointment. You feel like you did
not do your job right, experience the lessons you learned from
it, and how you are going to make sure you achieve it.
Starting my senior year as a junior to grad made me feel like I
did not do my job correctly in 11th grade. I felt as though I
could have done a lot better than what I did. Some days I was
not focused since I had other problems going on, but that does
not mean that was an excuse for me to do poorly in school. I
have trouble staying focused when I have other things going on
also. Since I came from a different school where the classes
were rowdy and took my mind off things to a school where the
classrooms were not, took some time for me to adjust to it.
The lessons I learned from this minor setback are you cannot
let other things you have going on in life affect your
performance in school. School is what is going to take me
places in life. It will also help me better myself so that one
day I can say because I graduated high school and went to
college, I was able to pursue more than others. School is
really something I need in life. Knowing that I am not a full
senior is a setback and only makes me want to try harder to
get where I want to be.
In order for me to get where I want to be before June so I can
graduate, I have to work hard for it. I have to really want to
reach success in order to get to that point. If I have to stay
up long nights to study or write a theme I will do it, if
that's what it takes to reach my goal. I will not let
anything get in the way of my learning. No matter what
problems I am going through I will make sure I stay focused.
It is time for me to realize nothing is more important that
your education.
Not being where you want to be is a major setback, but as long
as you strive to get where you want to it is not impossible to
achieve it. Knowing that you did not start your senior year as
a full senior is a disappointment. So in order to do so you
have to realize how you felt, learn from it, and do what you
need to do in order to reach your goal.
